WIth some tweaks to accomodate certain players.Īnd it is not even a question that at the beginning of a wipe the player count is the highest and decreasing after time.
Tarkov now is nothing more then a playble ittaration of the actual development progress. Changing that would cause a shitstorm if not legal action from at least some EU players (easy win). They sell this Game with a certain promise what it will be. Infact that would be bad beyond anything reasonable. Its unfair to expect that the Devs changes completly what they intend to do, just because people dont like change. That part is a problem made by Players oblivious what Tarkov actually is or better said should be. An extra day of "early wipe" for someone like Pestily (or a few hours for someone like LVNDMARK) is NOT WORTH the weeks of added effort someone who can play on weekends only will have to put into just unlocking the Flea Market, not to mention reaching the end-game. Most players do not give a flying frag about the "early-wipe" experience of a streamer who by the nature of their profession will completely skip that stage of the game. There is also an important aspect of public perception here: it is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE OPTICS for the changes being made to be things that the popular streamers constantly whine about.
In their attempts, which I believe futile, to bring about their original "vision" of Tarkov BSG is completely overlooking the players who already enjoy the game for what it is. The less of an impact it can have the better it is for the game's overall health and longevity.Īnother aspect to consider, it that by the very nature of "progression", everyone is eventually expected to reach the end of it.Ĭreating a massive disparity in how long it takes for players to be able to reach the end-game, combined with an absolute and complete lack of matchmaking based on the player level and skill, is a VALID source of frustration for people who appreciate Tarkov not for it's buggy PvP, but for the realism of its gunplay.Ĭombine the above with the fact that whenever people get comfortable with their progress, the game is not only wiped clean but also made more difficult, and it is no surprise people would be furious, especially when they already forked over the money for EoD to ease that very "progression pain". Persistent progression, especially one with as significant of an impact as Tarkov's has on the player performance, generally speaking DOES NOT have a place in this type of game. The rules allow for multiple victors and the play area accomodates fewer players, but fundamentally it is a game about making it alive to the end by the merits of your skill, cunning and knowledge as a player. Tarkov is, fundamentally, a survival-shooter: a Battle Royale if you will. If you play smart you can still kill geared players. and run around with Level 4 armor and BT ammo. just spend a week getting Level 2 Traders.
